Anna and Joel were trapped in a world of terror
For 10-year-old Anna and her eight-year-old little brother, Joel, all they knew was fear. All they saw was cruelty. Their mother forced them to make their beds perfectly—then made sleep on the cold, hard floor. Joel was so scared of being hit that he cowered in a corner, trembling every time his mother walked past.
Home is a dangerous place for children like Anna and Joel. And in the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more unsafe than ever. Children are spending more time at home, away from support networks. Parents are stressed and fearful. There are grave concerns for the safety of vulnerable children all over the world.
You can help children like Anna and Joel find a way out of terrible trauma, through our specialist counselling.
Several fundraising events have been cancelled due to COVID-19, leaving the Foundation with a significant shortfall—just when our services are needed the most. We urgently need to raise $71,000 to reduce the waiting list for our trauma counselling—which is already five months in some states. The longer that children have to wait, the more intensive the therapy required.
Please give now to help the most vulnerable children recover from trauma, so the rest of their lives aren’t haunted by violence and shrouded in fear.
